Haiti Appeal: The St. Vincent de Paul Conference would like to thank everyone who gave so generously in response to the Haiti appeal. The collection raised £883.66. The St. Vincent de Paul has a presence in Haiti and this money will be sent direct to Haiti via National Council Scotland to be used where it is needed most. You need JavaScript enabled to view it YOUTH AT MASS: We welcome our young people from St. Joseph’s Academy who will be providing music this weekend at the Vigil Mass.. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: The next meeting will take place in the Committee Room TODAY Sunday, 31st January at 12 Noon. RCIA: The next meeting will take place on Monday, 1st February at 7pm in the Church House. Social committee: The first meeting of the group will be on Tuesday, 2nd February at 7pm in the Chapel House. If anyone is interested in organising events that will enliven the Parish Community, please see Fr. Martin. ROSARY GROUP: This group meets every Tuesday at 7pm in the Cry Chapel. All are welcome to come and pray together. BAPTISM TALK: Fr. Martin will give a talk to all parents who wish their children to be baptised in the near future. It will take place THIS Thursday, 4th February at 7pm in the Church. Please see Fr. Martin to enrol your child for Baptism. HOMELESS LUNCH: The next lunch will be NEXT Sunday, 7th February at 12.45pm. It therefore returns to the 1st Sunday of the month. EDUCATION SUNDAY: Will take place NEXT weekend. There will be an input at the Vigil Mass from St. Andrew’s Primary and at the Sunday Mass from St. Joseph’s Academy. CHURCH STUDENTS APPEAL: There will be a second collection on the weekend of 13th/ 14th February to help pay for the Diocesan students for the priesthood. FINANCE GROUP: This will take place on Sunday, 14th February after Mass LOURDES HOSPITALITE: Have organised Mass with Anointing of the Sick and their AGM at St. Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr on Sunday, 14th February at 3pm. SMITHSTONE HOUSE: A poster is displayed at the back of Church detailing the spring events at Smithstone House, Kilwinning. DISCUSSION QUESTION: After a lot of discussion in the press concerning the Ordinary form of Mass and the Latin Mass, the discussion question is: “What are your memories of the Latin Mass?” and “What are the improvements you see since the changes appeared in the way Mass is celebrated?”. If you have no memory of the Latin Mass, “Does a Mass in Latin appeal to you?” MARRIAGE: If you have already arranged a wedding with Fr. Boland or if you are thinking of getting married, please see Fr. Martin to confirm arrangements. Also, if there are any couples who wish to be involved in preparing couples for marriage, please see Fr. Martin. YEAR OF PRIESTS: In this special year for priests, we pray for God’s blessing on the priests of our own Diocese. Today we pray for Canon Matthew McManus of St. Peter-in-Chains, Ardrossan.
