CHURCH STUDENTS APPEAL: The yellow collection envelopes given out last week are to help meet the costs of our Diocesan students for the priesthood.  Please return these envelopes in the box at the back of Church.  If you are a taxpayer, you can Gift Aid your donation.

BAPTISM:  We welcome Sarah Davis who will receive the Sacrament of Baptism during our Sunday Mass.

FINANCE GROUP: This will take place TODAY Sunday, 14th February after Sunday Mass

LOURDES HOSPITALITE: Have organised Mass with Anointing of the Sick and their AGM at St. Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr TODAY Sunday, 14th February at 3pm.

RCIA: The next meeting for this group will be this Monday, 15th February at 7pm in the Church House.  The five candidates this year will be formally enrolled in the ‘Rite of Election’ Mass at St. Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr on Sunday 21st February to which everyone is invited.

ASH WEDNESDAY:  This takes place on Wednesday, 17th February.  There will be two Masses (10am & 7pm) with Distribution of Ashes.

WOMEN’S SPIRITUALITY GROUP: Will meet this Wednesday, 17th February at 2pm in the Committee Room.

Stations of the Cross: This prayer will take place on the Thursdays of Lent at 6.30pm before Evening Mass.

FAMERS MARKET: The rota for the TRAIDCRAFT stall at the Farmers Market on Saturday, 20th February will be: 8.10-10.00 (Janet Brown, Danny Murray); 9.50-12.00 (Margaret McGowne, Margaret Milarvie); 11.45-1.15 (Alan Macaoidh, Jim Clark)

Enrolment Ceremony: The children who are preparing for the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion will be enrolled as candidates during the Sunday Mass of 21st February.  This is a special moment in which we pray for our children and their families.

ECUMENICAL SERVICE:  This Prayer Service will take place in St. Matthew’s on Sunday 28th February at 4pm where Fr. Martin has been invited to lead a talk on the missionary work in Ecuador.

JUST CHURCH:  This 6-session course will begin shortly in St. Matthew’s.  It is a faith development course which will look it issues of Church and poverty and how Gospel values can influence everyday life.  More details later.

ECUMENICAL PRAYER:  Why not take part in a LENTEN PRAYER GROUP organised by the Fellowship of Kilmarnock Churches.  Details on poster in Church.

HALF MARATHON: In preparation for his running of the full Marathon later in the year, Fr. Martin will run a Half Marathon on Saturday, 6th March in aid of HCPT which takes disabled children to Lourdes.  Can you guess how long it will take him?  Each guess costs £1 with the winning guess receiving £50

GONZAGA LECTURES:  These lectures examine the relationship between religion and society from a historical and current perspective.  They take place at St. Aloysius’ College, Glasgow.  Details on poster in porch

ECUADOR TRUST:  If anyone wishes to make a Standing Order to this charity, there are forms available at the back of Church.  These should be filled in and given to your own bank.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: Recently we celebrated Education Sunday in which we highlight the work of our Catholic Schools.  Today’s question is therefore: What are the benefits of our Catholic School system?  To our children?  To family life?  To the mission of the Church? To Society in general?

SHORT TERM PLEDGE FOR LENT: Could you refrain from drink until Easter Sunday?  Pick up a leaflet from the Pioneer Society.

SCIAF:  As Lent begins this week, materials for the SCIAF Lenten campaign are available at the back of Church

YEAR OF PRIESTS: In this special year for priests, we pray for God’s blessing on the priests of our own Diocese.  Today we pray for Father Neil O’Donnell, Parish Priest of St. Peter’s, Dalbeattie.
